Campus Voices for Peace

Campus VOICES for Peace was founded Oct 17 - Thursday 3 PM 2002, a: new NMSU organization dedicated to peace advocacy and education met in lobby of Breland hall.  They elected officers and wrote the charter.  Agenda: 1. writing charter 2. electing officers 3. Discussion of the Peace Teach In on the 28th 4. Planning for the rest of semester.

On Feb 13th Campus Voices for Peace held the Speak-Out for Peace Event. They had amazing speakers and did a march from ROTC building to Corbett Center. Then there were more speakers, theatre, and chants.  You could tell it was a great event, because students stayed and discussed War and Peace views for quite awhile after. That's a great education experience. These events are open to the public.

Feb 13 Event - Boje's Speech at the ROTC building at NMSU: Good Morning Iraq: Have you put your sperm in the Bank? And Anne Wing's Speech on Militarism and Public Schools. After the March to Corbet Center Neil Harvey spoke about the effects of the war machine.
