- June 25-29, 2007 Bedford, UK, David Boje worked with the Kensington Consulting Centrein a week-long workshop with a group of psychotherapists, counselors,
and related professionals. David was featured presenter for the last day and a half, addressing sensemaking through storytelling and ways
in which storying relates to counseling.
- July 2-3, 2007, Centre for Narrative Studies at the University of Southampton, UK Boje conducted an afternoon session on
Empirical Analysis of Wal-Mart’s Shifting Founding Stories,based on a content-analysis of Wal-Mart annual reports from 1972-2000.
The rest of his time there was spent in individual consultations with faculty.
- July 5-6, 2007, University of Lincoln, Lincoln, UK Boje was invited to participate in a celebration of the TAMARA journal
(which he edits). David conducted a medicine-wheel ceremony based on Native American Indian storytelling traditions. David also spent time there in
consultation with individual faculty and graduate students.
- July 9, 2007 University of Leceister, Leceister, UK David presented his latest storytelling research on Wal-Mart to a group of the university’s internationally-renowned Critical Management/Critical Discourse scholars.
- July 11-13, 2007, Critical Management Studies Conference, Manchester, UK Together with one of the UK’s premier storytelling scholars Yiannis Gabriel and
Erasmus University’s Cross-cultural Organization Chair Slawomir Magala, David Boje co-convened a conference stream of over 25 international presentations on organizational storytelling and consulting called “Emergent Story and Control Narratives.” Boje's presentation was on the changability of Wal-Mart founding storyies (from content analysis of 1972 to 2007 annual sharholder reports).
