Day's Attendance on Oct 28th Teach-In/Speak-Out was 600 (500 at events from 9AM to 6PM and 100 for the evening talk Bert Parks). Following the days event the was a Peace Aware Walk along University Avenue with Candles and Peace Songs.

Keynote
Speaker at Las Cruces Teach-In/Speak-Out for Peace was Bert Sacks, the first
activist to be served a full $10,000 Penalty Notice by the Department of Treasury
for delivering medicine to Iraq in 1997 (See More

On Oct 28th, the Las Cruces "Peace Aware" community, a network of 18 campus groups and four community groups Spoke Out at the Teach-In. Teachers, artists, organizations, students, and community members were looking for an opportunity to Voice their perspective on alternatives to war to the majority. We thank all the speakers, musicians, thespians, poets, Peace Vigil Marchers, and the 50 people who spoke at open mic. Thank the 100 people worked to bring about this Las Cruces Peace Aware event. Thanks to NMSU for free speech.
