2009 WHAT'S ART Convention of Southern New Mexico
BE A WORKSHOP LEADER: (See, Print, Sign & Mail-In Workshop Agreement) We invite experts to conduct workshops, to participate by offering a series of dynamic small business, economics, history, and master-arts workshops designed for artists and cultural organizations (galleries, museums, theatre, music, dance, arts education, & culinary small business, public & non-profits). For those in business community this might be goal setting, networking, marketing, insurance, capitalization, strategy and other topics that help our Creative Economy. For those in the arts, this might be a workshop of interest to visual, performing, literary, or culinary artists. We want to ask artists and arts & culture org leaders about the workshops; which are seen as important, and which ones we need to add. The idea is to get a set of workshops organized, and then as they settle in, to sign up participants (first come first served, limited seating of 20 to 30 participants each; outdoor Pioneer Women's Park events can accommodate more; Workshops are every other session alternating with plenary sessions in Alma d'arte auditorium that seats about 400; plan is to have about 6 to 10 workshops going on in the breakout sessions). See Ice Sculpting by Chef Maurice Zeck of NMSU in Leadership Course event We also seek contests and other events such as community mural projects, contests for students, and established artists that culminate in the Pioneer Park displays.
