A local professional photographer was kind enough to shoot the photo. Virginia Maria Romero, Ruth Drayer and I are working to construct a Storytelling Organization in New Mexico. I do this work as part of the TALKING STICK INSTITUTE to effect a series of Las Cruces Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission story intervention.
I am hoping that we can put a brief story inside THE STORYTELLING ORGANIZATION book, or on the jacket of The Storytelling Organization book.
Story: Virginia Maria Romero's painting fits the theme of The Storytelling Organization book. The image on the left for Boje, represents the technologizing of storytelling, its virtuality, its branding and corporatization. The image at right in the painting represents, for Boje, the old ways of storytelling, that was alive with magic and nether-world. Then in the lower part of the painting is a sort of 'antenarrative' a bet, a pre-story, a pre-narrative will transform the relationship between techno-narrative and living story ways. These three ways, the corporate narrative, the embodied living story and the antenarrative in-between them, are in a dynamic, self-organizing relationship. The Storytelling Organization has them in-balance or one dominates the other."
