Comments about sc’MOI
Conferences 1991 to 2004
This is a group which holds onto its values. It is a compassionate community
of scholars with a real love of ideas and a supportive attitude to each other.
ScMoi is quite unique within American management scholarship and, as such,
it is to be cherished and encouraged. - Heather Hopfl, Professor, Essex University,
UK
My impressions of sc'MOI is that it is a friendly, supportive and extremely
provocative forum in which one can feel relaxed about presenting new ideas.
My experience has been that being able to air new adventurous ideas at this
conference has greatly enhanced the eventual published version of the paper.
The feedback from the intellectual quality of the gathering is always focussed
upon the supportive, and the interdiscipinary nature of what is presented
is always 'food for thought'.With best wishes for future conferences - Associate
Professor Adrian Carr, University of Western Sydney, Australia
Sc’MOI has been born out of a clash of subcultures within the academic
community. This birthmark is a proud reminder of a critical attitude, a challenge
for our interdisciplinary research, and a warning not to forget the political
relevance of social sciences. Shall we balance all three? Being critical about
ideologies and realities around us, paradigmatically flexible in academic
communities and politically relevant to colleagues, citizens and underdogs
alike? - Professor Slawek Magala (Netherlands), Editor, Journal Organizaitonal
