Boycott Brand America

Dear PeaceAware,

Because millions of people are against the war;

And because the U.S. government has made it clear that it won’t listen to world opinion;

And because the symbols of American power are its global corporations and their brands;

I hereby pledge to boycott Brand America, from the moment the war begins and to the best of my ability until the U.S. empire learns to listen.

Here is the one and only rule for the 'Brand America Boycott:' this action belongs to you. You decide what brands and products stand as symbols of America's new empire-building project, and you decide how you'll make your statement. Above all else, this is a culture jam - personal, spontaneous, unpredictable.

Some will boycott oil for the duration of the war. Others are planning public activism against the greatest symbols of the Brand America warriors: McDonald's, Philip Morris, Exxon Mobil, Texaco, the major automakers, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, Starbucks, Nike, Disneyland, the Hollywood cinemas. Media activists can launch TV Turnoff campaigns against FOX, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and MTV.

Big corporate bucks ($40 million) got President Bush selected. Consumers for Peace asserts that top Bush contriubtors are: WalMart, K-Mart, Target, Sears, Starbucks, UPS,Mobil, Exxon, Shell, Amoco, Chevron/Texaco, Kraft Foods ( products like Tropicana, SoBe & loads of others), Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, The Big Three auto makers, Microsoft, Dell, AT&T, Verizon, Pepsi & Coke, Home Depot, Marriott Corp. American Airlines. Phillip Morris, US Tobacco, and of course Enron.
