IDEA 1 -
Help invite local religious leaders to speak out,
support Peace Vigils, and sign onto the City of Las
Cruces, Mesilla, & Dona Ana County Petition
supporting Peace & Civil Liberties
(www.PeaceAware.com). Only 52% as of Jan 20 2002
support War with Iraq (down from 70%). It is not
time to be silent and watch our civil liberties
evaporate. If
just 3% decide against war, then it will not happen.
If we are silent, more than our book
checkouts and email will be monitored. If we are
silent more wars will be launched. Sign on to

| IDEA 2 - Get at the root causes of militarism in America. Our middle School and High School children are being actively recruited to become soldiers. America spends 6 times more on military than any other country. The idea is to approach local schools and school boards about keeping the military out of Middle Schools, and setting up Peace Tables next to Military Recruiting Tables - Learn how to prevent your child's name from being given to recruiters - See MILITARISM |
| IDEA 3 - Create a dialog with the military - Many Vietnam and Gulf War I vets are against Gulf II. Vietnam vets were poisoned by USA's Agent Orange, Gulf War I vets were poisoned by USA's U236 uranium tipped arms and radiation dust. Current US plans are to use U236 depleted uranium in US weaponry. |
